Following the tragic stampede outside Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on June 4, 2025, rumours began spreading online that Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma had left for London just a day after the incident.

Several social media users expressed anger and disappointment, claiming that the couple had left India amid the chaos and mourning. Many even went to the extent of demanding action against them, accusing them of being insensitive during such a serious situation.
However, a video posted by ANI on X (formerly Twitter) has brought some clarity. The clip clearly shows Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma arriving in Mumbai from Bengaluru, not leaving the country.
Kohli was seen in a white shirt, blue jeans, and a beige cap, while Anushka wore a black t-shirt and jeans. This confirms that they did not leave for London, at least as of Thursday.
So far, there is no confirmed report or official statement suggesting that the couple has flown out of India. The London trip claims are based on unverified rumours circulating on social media platforms.
Both Virat and Anushka had earlier expressed their grief over the stampede, by reposting RCB’s official statement. In the shared post, they wrote;
“We are deeply anguished by the unfortunate incidents…”
To conclude, the claim that Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma left for London after the stampede is false. They were spotted arriving in Mumbai, and no reliable source has confirmed any international travel. Online outrage appears to be based on misinformation and speculation.
